Yorktown Maritime Weekend 20 Minutes from Williamsburg

Minutes from Williamsburg,   Yorktown will host the Yorktown Maritime Weekend on the Yorktown Waterfront at Riverwalk Landing. Three days of waterfront celebration are planned. Events will include  a traditional Parade of Sail, static displays, ceremonies, Adopt a Ship, free concerts and festivals, educational programs, 2-hour days sails on the Schooner Alliance tickets required), free tours of visiting tall ships Lynx, Spirit of Bermuda and Jamestown Settlement's Godspeed and much more all planned along the Yorktown waterfront. Free parking and trolley shuttle. Co-sponsored by the Yorktown Tall Ships committee and York County. Family fun and free to the public activities.

The Queens Tea and Tour in Jamestown Virginia

Guests receive the royal treatment during “The Queen’s Tour and Tea,” on Wednesday, May 9 at Historic Jamestowne. Senior archaeological curator Bly Straube gives guests the same tour that she gave to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II  during Her Majesty’s visit to Virginia in 2007. During “The Queen’s Tour,” guests get a look at the archaeological displays at the museum and hear the unique stories behind some of the artifacts. Straube has been with the Jamestown Rediscovery project from its beginning in 1994 Before the tour begins, guests enjoy delicacies prepared by Carrot Tree Kitchens and paired with Harney & Sons gourmet teas at the Dale House CafĂ©.
