Holy Mackerel... Another Whopper in Williamsburg!

As an innkeeper one of my many tasks in preparation to give our guests the most accurate and up to date information on the local dining climate, is to partake of the many delectable offerings our wonderful local restaurants have to offer. Well, at least that's how I justify it to my husband.

Another local treasure has crossed my path in recent months and I have gone back several times just to make sure it is not just the honeymoon effect that keeps me going back. The food is local, fresh and well prepared. So far I have had the Crab Cakes, the steamer combo and the all you can eat Alaskan crab legs, I am in love! Holey Mackerel has joined the ranks in my book at least as one of the best restaurants in town.

Its a causal atmosphere with a very relaxed look and feel. They have a room off to the side for semi or private affairs with some games for the kids.

Best deal in town on Alaskan snow crab legs. All-you-can-eat crab, and sides for $20.00, Monday Night from 4-10 p.m.

Kids eat free on Tuesday nights, one free for each adult entree purchased!

Tell them Karen sent you!

Colonial Gardens B&B offers you some of the most luxurious yet unpretentious accommodations in Williamsburg VA.

Free Wine Tastings? Right Up My Alley!

That's right! Every Friday evening from 6pm to 8 pm you can enjoy samples of wine from a variety of winery's both local and afar at Nicks Riverwalk Restaurant in Yorktown. Drive from the Colonial Gardens B&B down the beautiful Colonial Parkway to enjoy this fabulous treat and stay for dinner while your at it. Nicks has some wonderful seafood and stuff for the landlubber as well.

We like to get a seat by the window and watch the tall schooners comeback from their sunset cruises.

Colonial Gardens is a perfect place to rest your head in one of our luxury suites after a full day of sightseeing as well!
